A major remodel transformed a former warehouse into a LEED Gold office building, part of the RiverEast Center in Portland’s Industrial Southeast area. Our flat bar weave with 1/2″ openings covers every ramp and stair panel, both interior and exterior.
The parking structure behind The Shops at College Park on the University of Texas – Arlington campus showcases slender Living Screens which rise 5 stories tall. The largest freestanding span is 20 feet, floor-to-floor. In a short time span, the vines have already begun to reach the top!
For a private residence in metro District of Columbia, post-mounted Living Screen wraps the property and steps along the site’s sloping contours.
As part of the remodel of this mid-century hotel (near Oregon Convention Center), The Western Group’s woven wire is used extensively. Dense security screen surrounds the perimeter and 1″ intermediate crimp supports climbing vines in the central parking deck’s courtyard.
TWG provided woven wire mesh for the jail cell sets on the HBO series “True Blood” after working with set design company, Fangbanger. This installation is one of several examples of our materials making an appearance in a movie or on television.
Located at the San Ysidro Land Port of Entry, the world’s busiest land-based border crossing, this bridge securely connects the United States and Mexico. A strong woven wire is set in welded frames and attached to the slightly angled structure.
Tensioned screen made of stainless steel woven wire covers many openings on the south and west facades of this mixed-use project. The pattern provides midday and afternoon sun shading and offers privacy both day and night.
2″ aluminum mesh rail fill surrounds exterior balconies and stairs at this community library in southwest British Columbia.
This pattern has elongated slots with groupings of three perpendicular shot wires; the center one is flat bar. The slotted opening is 3/16” x 3” formed from 12 gauge, 11 gauge wire, and 1/8” x 3/8” flat bar.
The Hullu pattern is a unique combination of square and rectangular openings. It can be manufactured in 3 gauge wire in a variety of metals.
The pattern of this weave has elongated rectangular openings with double shot wires running in the perpendicular direction. The weave opening is 6-1/2 Mesh x 3/4”, and the wire is 14 gauge on the long runs and paired 18 gauge on the shot wires.
The pattern of this weave forms 5/8” square openings woven with .080” x 5/16” flat bar and has 44.4% open area. Available in: mild steel, stainless steel & aluminum
The Columbia Bar weave pattern forms 1-1/16” square openings woven with .080” x 5/16” crimped flat bar and has 59.7% open area. Available in: mild steel, stainless steel & aluminum
Living Screen® surrounds a small, grassy amphitheater and includes custom gates. The radius was achieved through custom post mounts that allowed for the arc without curving each panel.
Living Screen® serves as infill in exterior brick wall openings and as a barrier (with perforated plate on one side) at service enclosures at this university campus in Philadelphia. TWG provided panels in varying sizes to match the existing dimensions and posts for mounting the perimeter fencing.
Flattened Expanded Metal is standard expanded metal with diamond shaped openings, but it has been run through presses that completely flatten out the material.
Raised Expanded Metal is also known as standard expanded metal. The material has diamond shaped openings with slightly raised surfaces. It is available in a wide variety of opening sizes and material gauges.
Woven wire (specifically, the Venetian Waterways I pattern) fills large window-like openings that surround this multi-story brick and concrete parking structure on the GTCC campus. Screens are sized to fit inside an aluminum storefront system; their stainless steel finish shines like glass in direct sunlight while providing shading and security for the facility.
A multi-use structure located in Minneapolis’ Uptown district, the Mozaic Building includes office space, restaurants, a large public plaza and six levels of parking. TWG’s Living Screen® provides a sixty foot tall growing surface divided into three tiers. At over one hundred feet long, it is currently the largest green façade in the state of Minnesota.
The Dual Secure® is a modular, parallel-panel system of welded wire similar to the Living Screen® specifications. The difference comes from the attachment hardware into openings in a structure’s façade. The design intent is to provide maximum security, the required air flow, and long term sustainability.
